Abstrakt

Within the whole scope of archaeology, digital archaeology (also known as archaeological computing, archaeological informatics, cyberarchaeology, e-archaeology, virtual archaeology and so on) can be defined as the use of "future technology to understand past behaviour" (Zubrow 2006, 23). The field of software archaeology (i.e. special studies of legacy software) is treated elswhere.
