Research

Mission statement

Our interdisciplinary and mainly third-party funded research projects cover as archaeological case studies both–individual sites and archaeological landscapes in Europe as well as in the Middle East. In addition to the field research activities we are dealing with the theoretical archaeological framework, mainly focusing on archaeological survey methodology, ancient cults, material culture, and digital archaeology.

The projects as well as the outputs of our research are reflected in the teaching activities at the Department of Classical Archeology at the University of Vienna too.
